Each day starts with meditations at 7:30 a.m. A separate meditation for each day is printed and made available to each camper. You may meditate alone in your room, with some friends, or wherever you are comfortable. Beginning your day with quiet time with our Lord usually sets a pleasant tone for the entire day.
Breakfast is served starting at 8:00 a.m. As with all meals, it is served cafeteria style. A typical breakfast includes your choice of fruits, cold cereals, milk, coffee, juice, eggs, grits, biscuits, a breakfast meat, and other consumables.
The morning session of Praise and Worship starts at 9:15. This typically lasts approximately fifteen minutes and leads into the Morning Talk which lasts until 10:30 a.m.
From 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. is a period called Devotion in Motion during which a gifted leader guides participants during a period of graceful motion in loving adoration of our Lord. You don't need to be young, agile, or graceful to fully enjoy Devotion in Motion.
From 11:30 to 12:30, Creatives are held. The Creatives typically available are Creative Writing, Creative Art, Creative Music, Creative Conversation, and Creative Drama. All campers are urged to attend one Creative each day; you may choose the same Creative each day or participate in a different one each day. These sessions encourage campers to share their talents and insights in Christian perspectives and situations.
Lunch is served starting at 12:30. Food! The choices typically include a green salad, fruit salad, cooked vegetables, a cooked meat, rolls/cornbread, and other food items.
Free time begins at 1:30 p.m. Campers are urged to rest for some of the free time.
Prayer groups convene at 4:30 p.m. Prayer is one of the cornerstones of CFO, and every camper above childhood age is assigned to a prayer group and is very strongly encouraged to attend. Each group is usually approximately eight persons; each group will have an experienced leader.
Supper starts at 5:30 p.m. Supper is quite like lunch, except that the vegetables and meat(s) will usually change from one meal to another. More food!
The evening session of Praise and Worship starts at 7:15 p.m. This leads to the speaker for the Evening Talk, which is generally over just before 9:00, in time for us to pray the Nine o'clock prayer in unison. Don't worry about the prayer--it's easy to learn.
Fellowship starts after the evening talk. The evening fellowship is usually a blessing at the end of a day of blessings.
Lights out at 11:00 means that campers are supposed to be in bed and already sleeping or aggressively seeking that condition. For those who need additional fellowship or ministry after 11:00, it must be conducted quietly and peacefully.
These periods and activities are designed and prayerfully constructed to enrich your CFO experience and deepen your relationship with our Father, His Son, and the Holy Spirit. All campers are encouraged to attend all scheduled functions each day.
This is a family camp. By design, there are periods where adults and children will be apart, and there are times when families will be together. Babysitters will be provided for children three years old and younger during adult programs.
